  • Cold Camp

    Walesby Scout Camp Brake Road, Walesby

    Once again we invite all Explorer and Network members to join us on our annual cold camp. How cold will be it? Will this one be the year where it snows? Only time will tell but one thing we know is- you will have fun 🙂  Our first camp of 2026 will you be there? Cold temps, sizzling fires, marshmallows, cook your own food in the dutch ovens, what more can you ask for?

    Oh and I heard rumours of a surprise this year, something new!

    Cold Camp 2026

    Saturday  

    Arrive 10:00 Car park Walesby (All) 

    Open The Camp  

    Safety Briefing (All) 

    (Food Shop) Leaders  

    Split into Teams 

    Collect Camping Gear (All) 

    Brief intro to Bashers 

    Make Fires (alter fires) 

    12:00-12:30  

     Lunch (own packed lunch) 

    Keep Fires Going  

    Round Robin 

    Skinning / Gutting Food for Evening meal  

     Axe/saws

     Build Fires up for evening meal 

     Bridge Construction  

    Hoping to finish activities for 16.30  

    Cook Evening Meals 

    Clean Up  

    Wide Game (All)

  • York Residential

    Snowball Plantation Stockton on the Forest, York, United Kingdom

    This event at the moment is only for Explorers. If there is space left over, then Network will be invited

    York residential is a first for RESU! You will be staying at Snowball Plantation Scout Camp in their lodge situated in the woodland of Stockton on the Forest.

    Drop off: Morrisons Bramley at 17:30

    On Saturday, you will be walking over the hill of Kilburn, looking over the Beautiful City of York!! Saturday night, there will be a campfire with fancy dress! Who will win  best fancy dress at next years presentation evening!

    Sunday:

    There will be lots of onsite activities to participate in. Details about these will be released closer to them event.

    Before heading home at around 15:00, we should be back at Morrisons Bramley for 16:30.

    All food + drink is catered for. Book now to avoid disappointment, there are only 39 spaces available!

    Booking closes- 1st of March 2026 at 7pm and can’t be reopened.

    We have been made aware that the boys toilets are under refurbishment for the duration of our stay, All explorers will be using the one toilet with separate cubicles.

  • Peak Bagging Event

    The Lake District, around Keswick

    There is a lot of information for this event that you will need to look though before you book your space, please download and read all information contained in the following documents. spaces are limited to just 14 explorers. this event cost is £40.

    Due to the nature and logistics of the event, we will not be providing any food. We will be bringing with us; stoves, pans, gas etc. so Explorers will be able to cook simple food while we are at the hut we are staying in during the trip. The hut we are staying in also doesn’t have running water so we will be taking water carriers and filtration equipment with us. The name of the hut we are staying at is Ashness Scout hut, owned by Keswick Scouts, if you wish to google it. there is also only electricity by Solar power please bring a power pack with you.
